The Vault – Putney Pies London

I next play at Putney Pies on Friday 28th Feb 2020

The Vault is the under-belly of Putney Pies in London. It is a great venue for a night out you can book a table and have your fill of the amazing pies and then dance the rest of the night away to some great music. With Club DJ’s such as Seb Fontaines, Gary of Hoxton Whores fame, Lisa Loud, Guy Williams ( Pikes resident ), Howard Hill and Jon Sa Trinxa from Ibiza on the rota, it is nice to be asked to play down here every 3 to 4 months. Please be aware that in the vault @ putney pies on Friday and Saturday nights our dj’s start spinning the decks from 10pm, hence the volume of the music will be up. This might not suit everyone.

House Culture said about Paul –  we sit down with some of the most iconic characters from the scene (of 18 people that included the likes of Fatboy Slim, Terry Farley and Danny Clockwork – Paul Linney is a resident DJ at Pikes Hotel in Ibiza and one of the hardest working DJs in the business. Whilst he might not quite have the name recognition he deserves, Paul has played gigs to clued up clubbers all over the world alongside his corporate work at events like the after-parties of the National Television Awards”

What is it about a low ceiling, some open brickwork and a dimly lit room that create the perfect atmosphere for drinking and partying? It seems that boozing in broad daylight is far too socially accepted. Sometimes, we want to misbehave a little or even a lot…..– add a bit of naughtiness to the tipple, as if nodding back to the prohibited age of alcohol. London’s arches and vaults, naturally, seems like a good place to start.

There’s more beneath the crust than meets the eye – you’ll realise this once you visit this little pie stop on the edge of Putney High Street. Underneath the road-level quaint restaurant, which serves up heartwarming and generously filled pies, there’s  a stairway  leading to a vault beneath the arches by the Thames.

The music choice is mainly House and Ballaeric and the crowd a knowledgeable mix of ages and types, think Pikes in Ibiza but in a cellar next to the River Thames.

I love playing at the Vault and are made up when I was asked to DJ there for NYE 2019. – You can also find me playing at other clubs around the UK and abroad (mainly Ibiza)

Next gig at Putney Pies and the Vault is on Friday 27th March 2020

SUBSCRIBE to keep up to date with the events and music Paul Linney and Spectrum Disco are involved in….

It was a great night and even the Door staff joined in with the dancing……

The Show Must Go On – Pikes Ibiza

Freddie Rocks THE SHOW MUST GO ON! (Pikes blog on a recent event I was DJ at in Ibiza) STOP PRESS................................ THIS EVENT WON the best one-off event in Ibiza 2108 https://www.white-ibiza.com/2018-best-of-ibiza-readers-choice-awards/ As most of our friends, family, guests, visitors and readers already know, Freddie Mercury means a lot to us here at Pikes. His vibrant legacy lives on through the hedonistic soirées in his former favourite bedroom every night – now aptly named Freddie’s Suite – and tales of his escapades at the hotel continue to be shared via those who remember him, those who’ve turned the tales into urban legend and of course, through the pages of Tony Pike’s biography, Mr Pikes. To top that off, once a

Chilled set in the sun at Guards Polo Club

Guards Polo Club - This was my second gig this year at the world famous Guards Polo Club  This time it was to play after the Outsourcing Cup on Finals Day, on Sunday 24 June, is historically attended by HM The Queen and our President, HRH The Duke of Edinburgh. The day concludes with the popular and elegant British Driving Society Show parade in front of our Royal Box, ensuring that the Royal Windsor Cup Finals Day is a truly equine extravaganza. The previous occasion this year was for the the Varsity match. It was a really chilled set which gained favourable comments from many of the clients, who enjoyed sitting in the sun after a days Polo.

Ibiza birthday

Ibiza birthday - these are the best especially when you have all your friends with you. For this years party 100 of us took over Es-Vive in Ibiza for a party that was based on fun in the sun. The first night of celebrations was at Hi (former Space) where we had stage passes and spent the evening rubbing shoulders with Nic Fanciulli and his crew. On Sunday it was off to the Pacha owned Destino for Rumours This time we had DJ booth passes similar to when Guy Gerber was at the Round House in the UK. Finally it was party time.... the venue was Es-Vive. Starting on the roof top "Skybar" the party was opened by

Queens Cup Polo After Party – Club 1 Ascot

This was the first Big Polo After Party of the season and it was really well attended, with all the booths sold out in Club 1. Portobello Live Festival in Notting Hill London

Portobello Live is a festival on May Bank Holiday in and around Portobello Road Market and Notting Hill London. It is such a great vibe..... I got to DJ in between Gypsy Fingers (who are Mike Oldfield of Tubular Bells fame Children) and Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols - Rock and Roll..... Its a established fixture in the festival calendar and returns to West London for the fourth year with its winning formula of music, spoken word, film, performance and art. Held over Sunday and Monday of the May Day  holiday, the festival again serves up maximum accessibility for minimum spend. A great line up of new and established bands and performers, rock royalty, superstar DJs (do

Multinational wedding at the Lensbury – London

London Wedding - Lovely sunny weekend for the wedding at the Lensbury and this normally means a fairly chilled evening till the temperature drops. Not so for this wedding, having 300 guests and a free bar obviously helped in getting the party going from the first dance. The guests had flown in from all over the world and everybody was in a tuxedo or gown there were two wedding cakes and even doves.... It really was a fun day as you can see from the videos below.    For Once In My Life  For Once In My Life Ulrich Schnauss  Jonas Munk - Weightless Memories Lovin' You Amazonics Chris Isaak - Yellow Bird

Visual Jockey or VJ

Visual Jockey or VJ - Visual Jockey's are becoming more and more part of the event scene and finding someone who understands both the art of performance and the performance of art is important to you having the kind of event you are after. I can design shows around a theme or a logo, the more simplistic the core theme the better and more effective the visuals tend to be. Having worked in large venues like the Roundhouse and CooperBox I am aware of the requirements and pressures of big events and also the importance of good communication with the event organisers. Being a full time DJ and VJ allows me to be easily contactable in the run

Indie dance night at Groucho Club – Soho London

Indie dance night at Groucho Club - Soho London The Groucho Club remains a bastion and refuge for arts, literature and media folk in the bohemian heart of London’s West End. This was such a great night in one of Soho's most cosmopolitan clubs. In the crowd was Andrew Ridgley from Wham and Rusty Egan from the Visage. Also present was Chris Sullivan of the Wag club who rather kindly said its great to hear a good DJ as most nowadays are s**t...... The Groucho was dreamed up by a group of 15 publishers, writers and agents who were sick of having nowhere to meet in London. Even before the doors opened, in May 1985, membership was the

90’s Music

90's music - The 90’s started where the 80’s finished off musically but then we saw Electronic music, which had increased in popularity in the 1980s, grew highly very in the 1990s; house and techno from the 1980s rose to international success in this decade, as well as new electronic dance music genres such as Techno and Trance. Not being left behind in the 90s either was Hip-hop which had done well in the eighties also.   Rock and Pop continued to do well with artists such as Guns n Roses, Bryan Adams and Britney Spears. We also saw the emergence of girl bands such as the Spice girls and All Saints. Britpop bands such as Blur, Suede,
