Ibiza themed 21st Birthday Party – I was asked to help arrange a Ibiza themed 21st birthday party at an amazing country house in Ascot. At the planning stage the theme of a Carnival was agreed and the night was to reflect the birthday girls favourite club, the Pacha owned Leos in Ibiza. I was asked to provide a 10,000 watt sound system, club lighting and a projection system for images and photos. The music was to reflect that played at Leo’s rather than a mainstream club (with a bit of Pacha’s Flowerpower night thrown in for good measure).
In the run up to the event, I had three more meetings with the client to discuss the speeches, music and lighting. On the day I was on site for 10.00 so that my PA was set up for the band and singer to sound check on. I then ran through the speech with Dad to make sure the queue points for the image changes for his speech where all correct….It was not all hard work I got to spend a couple of hours in the families 50 foot heated pool.
By 18.00 all the acts had arrived and it really was like a carnival, with stilt walkers, acrobats, mime artists and jugglers. To bearded ladies, mime artists, sword swallowers and a python.
The night went well and the Ibiza themed night went down well with the guests and with Dad who texted me the next morning saying “Paul you did an amazing job as ever”
I regularly play in Ibiza and for the past 3 years have DJ’d at Pikes for at the party the has won the “best one off event in Ibiza” beating the likes of Solomun and his port party. You can see more about my Ibiza expereinces here.
