Ibiza birthday – these are the best especially when you have all your friends with you. For this years party 100 of us took over Es-Vive in Ibiza for a party that was based on fun in the sun.
The first night of celebrations was at Hi (former Space) where we had stage passes and spent the evening rubbing shoulders with Nic Fanciulli and his crew. On Sunday it was off to the Pacha owned Destino for Rumours This time we had DJ booth passes similar to when Guy Gerber was at the Round House in the UK.
Finally it was party time…. the venue was Es-Vive. Starting on the roof top “Skybar” the party was opened by Richard Hodgson and followed on by Anthony Linney both who played a chilled mix of music. We then moved downstairs into the Experience bar where Rusty Egan from Visage and the man who helped start the New Romantics with his Blitz club got on the decks warming the floor up for my set. At this stage we had a dancers and a drummer lifting the party atmosphere along with the increased tempo of the music. To punctuate the hand over from Rusty to myself we had Barbara Tuckers backing singer Holly Reed sing “Finally” and the party was in full swing.
A couple of hours later, Anthony Linney took over the decks again. This time playing a tech-house set that was so good earned him several bookings on the island. Pete Bones owner of Red Ant records finished the night off with a set for the hardcore clubbers. As an Ibiza birthday goes this was pretty special.
We then had 80 people on the guest list for Pikes to “Party Like a Rockstar” completely different genres of music but what a fun night.
